1. Berätta lite kort om dig själv
Jag bor i södra Norge på en liten ö som heter Karljohansvern i Horten. Huset är från 1838 och ligger omgivet av natur och vatten. Det är ett hus med en massa själ och charm som kommer extra mycket till sin rätt under julen. Här bor jag med mina barn, min partner och en söt hund. Jag är designer och stylist till yrket och undervisar inom estetiska ämnen som Konst och Hantverk och Design och Redesign. Min stora passion är dock att arbeta med att skapa olika stämningar i ett rum. Styling, foto och text får mig att glömma tid och rum.
2. När på året börjar du fundera kring julen och julklappar?
"Jag börjar att tänka på julen ganska tidigt. I oktober har jag redan tänkt och planerat en hel del. Det händer att jag köper lite julpynt redan då. I november börjar jag att både julpynta och köpa lite julklappar. Mest eftersom jag vill att det mesta ska vara på plats i december. Då vill jag nämligen ha tid att njuta av den mysiga tiden fram till jul med familj och vänner. Utan stress och måsten.
3. Vilket rum är viktigast för dig under julen?
Jag pyntar lite i alla rum i huset. Det viktigaste rummet är dock köket. Här tillbringar vi en massa tid. Det är i köket som nästan allt händer. Matlagning, läxor, inslagning av julklappar.... Vi samlas framför eldstaden som alltid är tänd. Det är så mysigt. Enande. I år ska jag ha hela storfamiljen runt bordet. Det ska bli så roligt. Jag älskar att ställa till med fest och särskilt allt som har med bordsdekoration att göra.
4. Hur tänker du när du ska välja julklappar att ge bort?
Eftersom jag vill ge bort julklappar som betyder något, så börjar jag tidigt med just det. Ber om önskelistor och skapar egna listor utifrån dem. Det mysigaste är kanske att köpa små fina presenter till väninnorna. Sådant som man själv önskar sig. Fina doftljus, ljuslyktor, badsalt, handkrämer och liknande. I allmänhet tycker jag om att ge bort presenter – och att lägga lite tid på att skriva några fina ord till varje mottagare. Vad personen betyder för mig. Jag tycker också om att slå in klapparna i fint julpapper. Med sammetsband och kanske något annat pynt. Det betyder mycket för mig att någon har lagt lite kärlek på inslagningen.
